I decided to try the #guitarix signal processing software with my #Focusrite Scarlett interface in #Debian 12 on a 2011 iMac.

First I tried the Flatpak, and that didn't work.

Then I tried the Debian packages for Guitarix and qjackctl.

I managed to get it working, in the sense that Guitarix was affecting the sound.

But there was a lot of noise, and I couldn't figure out how to control everything.

I'm not super into distorted sounds, and for recording this might be too noisy.

I might use (and try to learn) this again in the future, but I need something more subtle that offers amp modules and effects.

I need a better signal for recording, so I'll keep working on that. It could be my amp's preamp out to the Focusrite, or something else entirely.

Смонтировал первое видео с гитарой в #Olive 0.2. Кеширование работает гораздо лучше, чем в 0.1, предпросмотр плавный. Несмотря на периодические падения эта версия сильно упощает работу, если проект большой. Если мышкой не шебутить, понимать, что собираешься делать и часто сохраняться, то пользоваться можно🌿
