Apr 12, 2025 #bible #religion #morality
In this unforgettable moment, Christopher Hitchens delivers one of his most powerful and unapologetic arguments against the claim that morality requires belief in God. With his signature wit and razor-sharp intellect, Hitchens dismantles the notion that #atheism and #ethics are incompatible, exposing the arrogance and danger of such thinking. "It's Insulting to Suggest that You Can't Be Moral if You Don't Believe in God"is more than a statement—it's a bold defense of human conscience, reason, and the capacity for goodness without divine command. Watch as Hitchens challenges assumptions and sparks a conversation that’s as relevant today as ever.

Theists:
I simply don't believe your invisible friend is real. Why would I? Because of an ancient book of anonymous stories? Because indoctrinated people indoctrinated me as a child? None of it can convince a rational person that your extraordinary claims are true.

The New Testament throughout presumes a level of self-care, self-concern, and self-interest. But #Christians should never be perceived as primarily all about themselves.

#God has called all Christians to seek the interests of one another and others as well. We should prove willing to elevate the interests of others even above our own.
