TIL - Chrysopelea, commonly known as the flying snake or gliding snake, is a genus of snakes that belongs to the family Colubridae. They are found in Southeast Asia, gliding as far as 100 meters through the forests and jungles they inhabit.

@LisaWarnerLisaLuv @todayilearned it is not /too/ bad by the standards of snakes in SE Asia, only mildly venomous (not dangerous to humans)
There are many times when I am glad I am working in England and not Malaysia where my extended family and ancestors are from, as its not that uncommon when working in plant rooms, comms and electrical cabinets etc to encounter live snakes (one of my uncles works in wildlife management and helps relocate them to more appropriate places)
