mythologyandhistory<p>Did you know that Big Flood <a href="https://mas.to/tags/mythology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mythology</span></a> is almost universal?</p><p>E.g. in West <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Newguinea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Newguinea</span></a>, the Fayu people speak of the time Bisa & Beisa, a man & a woman, had to find a new home. They came upon a <a href="https://mas.to/tags/jungle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jungle</span></a> & while walking in it, it started raining.</p><p>The <a href="https://mas.to/tags/rain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rain</span></a> never ceased & the two built a canoe. A few animals joined them.</p><p>When the water reached the treetops, the boat was swept to a cave. Here they lived & had kids that made the first Fayu.</p><p>Their bodies, turned stone, are still in the cave today.</p>
Soh Kam Yung<p>This has being causing quite a stir in the Singapore birding community. A King Bird-of-Paradise (Cicinnurus regius) spotted recently in the forest.
