I hate the corporate definition of “child safety”. It is 100% about monetizability and 0% to do with safety.
I'd mark my entire video library as 18+ because I cannot spend the time to determine which are "safe" for kids and I do not primarily make content for children.
But the ONLY effect doing that on YouTube would do is disable ads and make my videos much harder to find, and force login to see them.
0 kids would be “saved”. It has almost nothing to do with children.
