Succulents will be fine, but any woody plant with new growth will lose a lot of water to transpiration. Heatwaves aren’t supposed to come until the new growth has barked over to keep water in.</p><p>Give thes plants and trees a deep watering NLT Wednesday or Thursday. Like 5 gal each. Enough to sink deep and remain available as surface moisture evaporates. Mulch will help too. When the leaves start wilting it’s already too late. In March 2025, Central #Asia experienced an unusually intense #heatwave, with temperatures reaching record highs across the region, reaching maxima of 30.8°C #Jalalabad in #Kyrgyzstan, 29.4°C #Namangan, 29.1°C #Fergana, in #Uzbekistan and minimum temperatures of 18.3°C in #Shahdara, making it the hottest March night in Kazakhstan’s history.

Extreme heat affects agricultural workers disproportionately, reducing labor capacity, with over 230 million hours lost in #Uzbekistan in 2023.
