Our Lost Arcade - The History

While interest in space is usually paired with the Apollo moon landings, a decade before the climax of the 60s, Sputnik fever turned pop culture's attention to the heavens.

Here are a few examples of late 50s space-obsessed #arcade games.

Next week we'll look at the first Space Age amusement company.

Yesterday I bought the “Rayz’ Arcade Chronology”, on Switch, as it was on sale. Here is the first game of the collection: RayForce, a 2D vertical Shoot’Em Up from 1994 by Taito.
I never played it before, but it’s really great. There are a ton of neat graphics tricks. Sprite rotations, zooms and even per column scrolling.
And the gameplay is superb, with its locking missiles system 🙂

Person locally selling their Atari Stun Runner arcade machine (not currently working) for $150.

Of interest is their claim that it is serial #0001

Would be tempted but don’t even have that much expendable cash right now and I’d have to rent a truck to move it.
