US to screen prospective immigrant social media accounts for antisemitism

israelnationalnews.com/flashes

US Citizenship and Immigration Service announces that immigration benefits will be denied to people "social media content that indicates an alien endorsing, espousing, promoting, or supporting antisemitic terrorism, antisemitic terrorist organizations, or other antisemitic activity" is found on their accounts.

The Trump administration removed their mask on antisemitism.

We know that in the pro-Palestine protests there have been (and continue to be) a mix of both legitimate political protest and antisemitic hate speech, and the Right complained about the antisemitism, while the Left was silent

I complained loudly that the Left had seeded the moral highground to the Right. Now the true motive has become obvious, as we've seen with the deportation of pro-Palestinian protestors *without a hearing or trial*. In other words, without justice and due process.

Now it extends further with a lawyer representing one of these people being detained at the border simply for having a client!

This is antisemitism because they are using Jews as their pawns in their cynical attack both on the Left and I'd argue on Muslims.

Trust me when I tell you that a) This makes Jews less safe worldwide b) They will turn on us very soon.

On 21 April, #Germany will deport me – an #EU citizen convicted of no crime – for standing with #Palestine

"None of the charges have yet led to a court hearing, yet the #deportation letters conclude that we are a threat to public order and national security. There has been no legal process for this decision, and none of us have a criminal record. The reasoning in the letters continues with vague and unfounded accusations of “#antisemitism” and supporting “terrorist organisations” – referring to #Hamas – as well as its supposed “front organisations in Germany and #Europe”.

Since October 2023, the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees has unlawfully frozen the processing of all asylum seekers from Gaza. And on 16 April 2025 a federal administrative court in Germany will reportedly decide on a case that could set a precedent for the German state to mass deport Palestinian refugees.

...What we do know is that we are in the right, and however Germany decides to act now, we – hopefully with the international community alongside us – will act and fight accordingly. Standing up against the ongoing #genocide and calling for a free Palestine is the most important thing to do now. theguardian.com/commentisfree/

Update. Defense of #Palestinian rights is not #antisemitism, let alone terrorism. It should not be grounds for campus discipline, let alone deportation. Calling it antisemitic is a dishonest attempt to use support for Jews to deny and suppress support for Palestinians, free speech, and human rights.

"We are Jewish professors, staff members, and students from universities across the United States. We hold various views about Israel and Palestine, politics in the Middle East, and student activism on our campuses. But we are united in denouncing, without equivocation, anyone who invokes our name – and cynical claims of antisemitism – to harass, expel, arrest, or deport members of our campus communities. We specifically reject rhetoric that caricatures our students and colleagues as “antisemitic terrorists” because they advocate for Palestinian human rights and freedom."

An anti-zionist Jew on why anti-semitism is on the rise.
"When you perpetrated an apartheid, when you committed genocide and then when you support it all in the name of the Jewish people, that is what causes anti-semitism to be on the rise, not the opposition of those horrific crimes"

Terrorism according to Israeli media, #Ynet.

When not busy scavenging stories from social media about #antisemitism for their rolling coverage titled "wave of antisemitism" (mostly ultra-orthodox Jews complaining about not getting something they felt entitled to), Ynet is "reporting" (IDF briefings) about terrorist activities, including children and women throwing stones at unsuspecting, fragile soldiers who are left with no choice other than to “neutralize” them.

The text in Hebrew says:

Fighters neutralized a female terrorist who was throwing stones in the Shomron, a knife was found in her possession.

IDF forces neutralized a female terrorist who was throwing stones at the Giti Avishar junction in Shomron. During the search, a knife was found in her possession.

(Elisha Ben Kimon)

This is not the definition of terrorist or terrorism. Yet Ynet is regularly choosing to use the term “מחבל" (terrorist) to describe Palestinians. The labeling of stone-throwing as terrorism and the individual as a terrorist represents a particular narrative about resistance activities in the occupied territories. The report also emphasizes that a knife was found in her possession after the fact, which serves to further justify the characterization and response.

"It’s easy to see why authoritarians instinctively distrust universities. Like a free press, functioning political opposition or effective trade unions, they are a source of independent accountability and potentially resistance to governmental control. In practical terms, academics and students have long traditions of noisy activism. Shutting them up is a critical step in the silencing of dissent."
