Just found out about this little gem of a program/addon/extension

it's a drop-in replacement video player for streaming video's online.

It won't work with videos that have DRM, this is intentional, but in other cases it gives a nice full-featured player, that will attempt to download the full video in the background, using multiple connections, to avoid any buffering.

Die Deutsche Verwaltungscloud (DVC) soll Behörden digital souverän machen – doch der Bund bleibt außen vor: Die „Netze des Bundes“ sind veraltet und technisch nicht kompatibel. Laut einer Anfrage der Linken fehlen Konzepte, Netz- und Cloud-Architekturen strategisch zu verbinden. Der geplante Umbau soll bis 2030 dauern. Anke Domscheit-Berg kritisiert das als schwerwiegenden Fehler und bemängelt fehlende Leitlinien für Cloud-Entscheidungen. Die Cloudausgaben des Bundes stiegen 2024 auf 286 Mio. €, doch Open Source spielt weiter kaum eine Rolle. Dabei zeigen BKA und ZITiS, dass Open-Source-Software Sicherheit fördern kann. Domscheit-Berg warnt zudem vor Abhängigkeiten von US-Hyperscalern: 32 Dienste seien bereits im Einsatz, meist ohne echte Ende-zu-Ende-Verschlüsselung. Digitale Souveränität müsse höchste Priorität erhalten – als Kanzlerangelegenheit.
