@freezenet I actually don't bother watching Youtube videos on either Youtube's mobile app or on Youtube's website. Instead I use #Newpipe on mobile and either an #Invidious server or #Freetube on a regular computer. I can mostly escape the algorithm, the trackers and the ads.

@leftylabourtech Nice! It's good to know there are ways around all of this. It might not necessarily be mainstream knowledge for a number of users out there as many just use the vanilla YouTube experience.

One option I was thinking about for a future project was reuploading my video's to PeerTube and mirroring the video's on there. Don't necessarily know a whole lot beyond that it's part of the Fediverse, but I suspect it's probably better than YouTube in terms of tracking/algorithms.
