Why do these rich Silicon Valley dudes always talk about getting up when it's still dark, like it's some kind of great virtue?

combined ketamine and amfetamine use will lead to exactly these sort of sleeping patterns. Eventually though the sleep deprivation will turn people psychotic, make them prone to impulsive and irrational behaviour, and if they already lack empathy it is only going to make their behaviour far worse..

@RickiTarr having been a (very minor and not particularly rich) Silicon Valley dude, part of it is that the west coast is on the west coast. And the northeast and western europe have a center of gravity that the west coast doesn't. Getting up early is part of dealing with the time zone diffs. Of course, none of them want to admit that they're adapting to another place so they make it a virtue. Plus, sleep disorders go along with the relationship and psychology disorders SV dudes cultivate ...
Yeah, like they gotta work or something. Silly dudes.

@RickiTarr I spend quite a lot of the year getting up when it's dark. This is because I have a job and live at a high latitude, where it's often dark.
Because they have so little social life, so few real friends, and so little artistic sense and emotional intelligence, their only reason for living is "work".
With actual work replaced by endless parading of their (very limited) intelligence and business acumen. Meaning they have to virtue signal all the time they are very busy and important people, while their underlings are the ones doing all the work.
