If you want a home phone after then it will need to be digital and going through your broadband router. UK service providers now seem to routinely charge a premium for a home phone number.
Imagine me trying to explain this to my elderly mother who is very set in her ways.
One thing I learned from this tortuous conversation was that the elderly don;t understand that if mobiles had been invented first no one would ever have had or thought of having a home phone.
